Who or what inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I’ve always had a strong interest in the ways people engage with and utilize physical environments. This inspired me to explore design and how well-designed space impact the experience of the end -users.
What is your favourite part of working at METAFOR?
METAFOR has an outstanding team of individuals who are enthusiastic about our work and wonderful people to collaborate with. METAFOR also have extraordinary portfolio of projects spanning various market sectors, providing staff with a wide range of project to work on.
What is your favorite project that you have worked on or that you are proud that METAFOR was a part of? Why?
I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with a diverse range of clients who are deeply enthusiastic about their work and engaged in design process. One of my most memorable projects was a Seniors Care Center that had been 10 years in the making. The staff were so excited for the residents to final have a place intended for them. The commitment they showed to the project, driven by their passion for the well-being of the residents, was truly inspiring.
Which of our Core Values resonates with you the most and why?
We Are Purposeful: I believe I am Purposeful. When designing I tend to prioritize function over form. I feel for a design to be successful to the end user, it must be aligned with the project’s intended purpose. Many projects originate from a necessity to fulfill a purpose for the user.
What inspires you in life? What are you passionate about?
I am inspired by learning new things and developing new skills; but also sharing knowledge with others. I believe it is important to be open and continually growing as a person and find what you are passionate about in life.
What hobbies, activities, or passions bring you joy outside of the office?
I spend a lot of time outside in nature, walking and hiking in Calgary or in the mountains. I love to travel and explore new place locally and abroad. Upon arriving to a destination, I like to go on an extensive walk to discover and explore the area.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I have a long list of destinations I’d love to explore, but if I could travel anywhere at this moment, I think it would be Iceland. I am interested in exploring the geological features of the region.
Tell me something about you that most people don't know.
I’m not sure that most people know how much I enjoy baking. My favorite thing to bake is muffins, usually Banana Nut or Morning Glory muffins.
