METAFOR was engaged by T.i.Studios during the initial purchase of the building by the current ownership to conduct a building assessment and provide recommendations for repair and upgrade scenarios.
Project Details
The original building included low thermal performance block walls, original aluminum windows, and areas for industrial and administrative office space within the building.
Following METAFOR's recommendations, the project team determined that an upgrade scope of repair was warranted including an overclad of the existing concrete masonry unit (CMU) exterior walls, with additional insulation and an air barrier membrane.

METAFOR's role was to provide building envelope consulting services following the assessment through design and construction of the project.
The finished project provides a refreshed look for the previously dated building with enhanced thermal and air control performance. The results extended the service life of the building envelope by 30 to 50 years, while simultaneously reducing operating costs and energy and GHG emissions for a more sustainable building.
