Project Details

This project aimed at improving the pedestrian space and public realm along 8th Street SW in Calgary’s downtown between the Bow River and 17th Avenue.

The development plan focused on the design of better sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and gathering areas for Calgarians between the popular Bow River Pathway, Beltline communities, and the retail district along 17th Avenue SW. The vision was to create a contemporary, pedestrian focused urban destination area with a distinct identity that connects people, parks, and neighbourhoods supported by vibrant retail experiences and a variety of transportation modes.
