Project Details
An underground parkade, accessible from Spring Creek Drive, will house service spaces, covered vehicle and bicycle parking, and a tunnel connecting to the adjacent Malcolm Hotel. This connection will allow guests to access the hospitality services and offerings of both buildings especially to the new proposed Alexander Spa Hotel. Above the tunnel, there will be a viewpoint plaza with seating, short-term bike parking, and steps connecting to the trail along Spring Creek.
Alexander Spa Hotel's site is notable cross-sectional grade change from northeast to southwest, retaining walls with perimeter glass fencing will be constructed around the outdoor spa area and guestroom patios to provide privacy and protection from the elements. The existing URW will be reconfigured to run parallel with the property lines, remaining clear from the building and outdoor amenity spaces.

The façade of the Alexander Hotel Spa will vary subtly in response to the different proposed uses within the building, oriented either toward the street or garden. Guestrooms and the pool and hot tub area facing Spring Creek will have large windows and walkout patios/balconies to enhance views of the mountains and creek. Wellness and massage rooms, along with guestrooms facing Spring Creek Drive, will have smaller windows on the lower levels for privacy and separation from the street, increasing in size on the upper levels. The main entrances to the hotel and spa will be recessed to provide shelter, featuring landscape elements such as wood screens and planters. The north corner of the Alexander Spa Hotel building will be clad in rundle stone, incorporating prominent signage to anchor the hotel and signify the entrance to Spring Creek. The Alexander Hotel Spa is another monument for METAFOR's work in the Bow Valley Area.
