The project is a major step in the implementation of Strathcona County’s Aquatic Strategy.
The project is a major step in the implementation of Strathcona County’s Aquatic Strategy. Situated as part of Emerald Hills Park in Sherwood Park, the Emerald Hills Leisure Centre shares a site with Archbishop Jordan High School, a major outdoor playing field complex, storm water pond, and a recreation area. This facility focuses on aquatics programming with a full complement of swimming lessons and therapeutic fitness.

This community landmark has an identifiable exterior which has become a visual focal point in the area.
The Centre is geared towards leisure, therapeutic, and beginner swimming programs and includes a 6-lane 25 metre lap pool, leisure pool with zero depth accessible entry and a 6,500 sf2 fitness and wellness component. The modern facility also features a 4-lane 25 meter adjustable depth warm pool, a children's teaching pool, whirlpool, steam room and universal change facilities.
