The Forest Lawn Lift Station for the City of Calgary involved a collaborative effort between METAFOR, Sans façon (public artist) and Associated Engineering. The new lift station includes upgrades to the sewer water services in the Forest Lawn community in an entirely new, innovative manner.
Clad in perforated metal panels, the building has a simple iconic form. On the north face, an interactive monitoring system displays the volume and flows of the water systems through the community and into the lift station using a vibrant, ever-changing LED light system illustrating how public art can become a driver in integrated design.
