The project included the upgrading of an existing storm lift station located at 605-1st Avenue NW in Calgary.
Project Details
The design intent was to create a form that is simple yet captivating and utilize materials that are durable, contextual, and thoughtful.
The new main structure is integrated with the existing well and the materials chosen for this project are contextual and natural (brick, metal panel, wood). The subtle geometry of the building endorses the shape of the triangular site and provides a low maintenance envelope. The wood textured metal siding façade, and dark colour brick and roof blends structure into the neighbourhood at the same time providing a contemporary appearance., which compliments the landscape and surrounding neighborhood, allowing the building to fit its environment and feel less visually and physically invasive.
